ABOUT
Marguerite Schumm
Marguerite is an Art Director and Creative Leader who thrives at the intersection of 2D and 3D design. She brings 15 years of experience leading teams and guiding visual storytelling across brand, environment, and experience design. Whether crafting identity systems, immersive exhibits, or large-scale public graphics, her work is grounded in helping people feel oriented, connected, and inspired by their surroundings—built, natural, or digital.
She studied Industrial & Interaction Design at Syracuse University and later earned a Studio Certificate in Communication Design from the Pacific Northwest College of Art. This cross-disciplinary foundation continues to inform her holistic and human-centered approach to design.
As the former Art Director and Creative Services Practice Leader at Alta Planning + Design, she led a multidisciplinary team of designers and web developers, shaping creative strategy and overseeing branding, wayfinding, and public engagement work for clients across North America. Her portfolio spans Fortune 500 companies, museums, nonprofits, and city agencies—with a particular focus on accessibility, clarity, and storytelling.
Outside of work, she’s happiest when combining curiosity and craft—whether freelancing, building historical dioramas, or traveling off the beaten path. She’s currently exploring new creative leadership opportunities.
